The W.K. Kellogg Foundation works to help vulnerable children and their families succeed. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking to support people in communities across the nation so that they that they can create the kind of conditions that cause children to thrive. The Kellogg Foundation envisions a future where healthy, educated children are growing up in stable families – and as part of strong, vibrant, and engaged communities.

Two essential approaches undergird its grantmaking. The first approach is applying a racial equity lens, to surface and address the needs of marginalized communities and disenfranchised people. The second approach is engaging people in communities to seed change and spark innovation, especially those who might not normally come together to address community challenges.

Established in 1930, the Kellogg Foundation is a longtime investor in early care and education, and uniquely focuses on transitions and connections, or the threads that hold a healthy child’s life together.

The vision and support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has allowed the Insight Center to be a national leader in creating policies and programs that recognize the importance of early care and education to both the health of our children and to our regional and national economies.
