Laverne Gardner, Office Manager LaVerne Gardner has been with the Insight Center since 1985. She ensures that the organization runs smoothly and that all staff people have what they need in order to be effective in their jobs. Throughout her more than 20 years at the organization, LaVerne has assumed a wide variety of critical functions, including supervising administrative staff, administering the organization’s health benefits, planning and organizing nationwide meetings and convenings, purchasing all office equipment and technology, and teaching everyone how to use it. Before joining the organization, LaVerne spent 15 years with the City of San Jose. She worked in the City Attorney’s Office, the City Manager’s Office–Budget Division, and the Personnel Department as a Senior Wordprocessor. LaVerne also worked for the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act consortium as a program specialist in the Personnel Department.
