Tony Daysog, Program Manager

An economic development professional with a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning, Daysog’s recent projects include an economic analysis of Las Vegas’ proposed “living wage” ordinance, as well as an analysis of workforce housing needs stemming from various land-use scenarios that the City of Rancho Cordova is considering in updating its General Plan.  At Insight, Daysog focuses on economic impacts and related issues.  An expert economic impact analyst, Daysog analyzed over 50 rules issued by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, including BAAQMD’s 2010 Clean Air Plan.

In 2010, Daysog’s work helped refine the “substantial evidence” test in a successful “urban decay” court case decided by Superior Court Judge Kenneth Twissleman, who previously issued the 2004 landmark “Bakersfield Citizens for Local Control v. City of Bakersfield”, which required a thorough economic impact analysis as part of the environmental review process for a proposed Super Wal-mart.  Daysog earned his City Planning Master’s degree from UC Berkeley, where he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in US History.  He also served as a City Councilmember for ten years, with two separate terms as vice mayor.
