InBiz, the Inclusive Business Initiative InBiz Home The Inclusive Business Initiative website is an initiative of the Insight Center for Community Economic Development to provide information to states and local governments, as well as diverse small businesses and their advocates, in order to further the inclusive business programs of public agencies. This initiative is a key component of the Insight Center's work to advance strategies that build family and community assets and help overcome the racial wealth gap.
Are states moving away from economic development strategies that specifically target minority and women owned business enterprises (M/WBEs)? The following trend line emphatically suggests 'no'. By tracking year-by-year changes in state policies such as affirmative procurement, supplier diversity, loan programs for M/WBEs, and M/WBE targeted business services, the Insight Center has been able to create the following 1996-2006 state policy trend line. ![]()
