Creating Spaces for Children: High Quality ECE Facilities
Part of the Insight Center’s work to build state infrastructure includes our new initiative, Creating Spaces for Children: High Quality ECE Facilities. While many factors contribute to ECE program quality, the physical environment is often overlooked when determining program costs and allocating financial resources. This initiative will increase ECE advocates, policymakers, and public and private agencies’ knowledge of the relationship between high quality facilities and high quality ECE programs and child outcomes. The goal of this work is to encourage public policy that will create new state facilities financing models, ultimately leading to an increase facilities development, more slots for children, and increased access to quality ECE programs.
